Our Story
Born and raised in the Bay Area, brought together by a love of making beautiful things with their hands.
How it started
Curious General Store started the way the best things do — accidentally. One sibling picked up a pair of knitting needles during a rainy weekend, and somehow, four people ended up gathered around a kitchen table, each making something with their hands.
We're four siblings from the Bay Area who grew up believing that the most meaningful gifts are the ones someone made for you. That belief became Curious General Store — a small, family-run studio where every bag is knit by hand and every card is illustrated with care.
We wanted to share our gifts with the world — not just the physical ones, but the gift of something made slowly, intentionally, and with a whole lot of love.

The Team
The Knitter
The one who started it all — knitting chunky bags late into the night and gifting them to anyone who admired them. Now she makes them for you.
The Illustrator
Botanical obsessive and watercolour devotee. Every Curious Cards design starts with her sketchbook and a cup of tea.
The Maker
Handles the finishing, the packaging, and the little details that make opening a Curious General Store order feel like a gift to yourself.
The Dreamer
Keeps the vision alive — always asking 'what if we made it in that colour?' and usually being right about it.
"We make things because we love making things — and we hope you love them too."
Every item is made by hand, with care and attention to detail that machines simply cannot replicate. No two pieces are exactly alike — and that's the point.
We use premium, responsibly sourced yarns and recycled paper — because what we make should be good for the world, not just beautiful in it.
We don't overproduce. Each piece is made when you order it, with the same care we'd give to something made for a friend.
